    The Wing Luke Design Takes Shape

    Opened in 1971, the current Wing Luke faces several systems and structural challenges. The building will be removed in late 2018 and a new elementary school is scheduled to open in its place in time for the 2020 school year.

    Replace the deteriorating buildings of Wing Luke with a new school that supports best learning practices for elementary schools. The new building capacity will be 500-600 students, providing additional permanent capacity to support projected enrollment growth in southeast Seattle.

    After abating and demolishing the existing structures, core facilities and teaching areas will be built and site work completed.
